2003 a new beginning
Some happenings to note in 2003

The first week, Jan 1-7
The Christmas and New Year Holidays were celebrated in a simple manner. Focus is family and friends. Realized that I need not make every Holiday very colorful or loud to be memorable but I only need to tune my heart to the ones I flt close...Simply put, I only need to think, communicate, or be with people I care about and let them feel I do care.

The Yahoo Group admin is posting some old pix.
Batch '81 reunion last Jan 11, '03
I was so excited to meet my classmates last Saturday when one of them ( d one standin) went home from Singapore for the Holidays. He left yesterday. The other one (sittin) is currently managing a Floor Wax family business. We talked non-stop and were catching up details which were left unsaid for the past 22 years. Thanks to Yahoo groups we are now able to post messages and old/new photos.
Birthday Celebration Jan 17, '03
The day started with an early morning mass at Church, bought a bunch of white Malaysian mums and ate Pinoy Delicacies and sweet mangoes with family.
Dinner at office was with Oysters...oysters...and oysters...gosh this is gr8.

Attend early mornin mass with mum, took some pix at the fluvial parade but it's not developed yet.

Sinulog Mardi Gras 2003
Family left home packed with food, drinks and other basic needs early Sunday to get the best place for the observance of the Mardi Gras. Found an elevated spot where viewing is no problem.

Life is precious...make the best of it while alive! Jan 24, 2003
A co-alumnus of mine and a neighbor way back in 1986-89 when we're both newly married has lost his eldest son, who is a classmate of my 2nd daughter. He had a health problem since birth and had been into series of 4 major operations, the last was last year at St.Luke's in Manila. Despite such agony, the boy remained calm and tried to live a normal life and helped his parents by complaining less. In the afternoon of Jan 23 while practicing basketball alone, he collapsed, nose crashing to the ground and declared Dead on Arrival at the nearby Hospital. Activities that week or that very day were normal. No premonitions nor unusual goodbyes that took place. However, found in the young boy's wallet are pieces of notebook sheets with copies of poems, beautiful and meaningful poems about life. To top it all, there is a bigger sheet where he wrote a sort of Diary whereby each month, he chooses a special passage or sayings maybe fitting on that particular month. Of all the messages I can't forget were "Jan 2002-To find a good friend...be a friend! and Dec 2002 - Great is my happiness Lord that you have heard my prayer...I am at peace". It was the last and it was such a soul touching message not only for his parents but to us who are close to them!
Today 1/30/03 is special
I met a friend...and although d exchanges of messages were quite short but i guess I said enough :) but I felt he has not said as much :( coz he is worried most times...is something bothering u friend?
